Funiculars are fun...

in Bergen where the steeply inclined train carries one to the 320 m summit of Mount Fløyen where there are spectacular views of this beautiful port town (click to enlarge.) I've invited interested passengers to accompany me early this fine morning to ride the train to the top, snap some photos (panorama!) and hike back down to town. We'll look for some rocks, too.

Then it's off to the estate of composer Edvard Grieg for an afternoon of Norwegian culture and a tour - including a short performance - with the entire group, and then board ship in the afternoon and set sail by 6 pm.

Here's the tourist page about the funicular in Bergen.

  1. Good to know you're keeping the "fun" in funicular. My goal is to keep the "fun" in disfunctional!
