Twittering nitwits forecast earthquake...

in southern California:  Thursday's Predicted Earthquake Downgraded to Hoax.  The USGS responded appropriately with a tweet of its own:
"Seeing many tweets on quake prediction. Folks, let's set the record straight...no one can predict quakes...no one http://go.usa.gov/xA9."

Sell crazy someplace else...

Massive Earthquake Predicted for California Within a Month.

OK, the so-called prediction has been made. Let's start the clock. I'll go out on a limb and suggest nothing of any significance will occur, nor will Yellowstone blow its top, during the next 30 days.

Editors at on-line science journal...

hoaxed by an entirely bogus paper written by a computer algorithm. Priceless.

Hoax alert...

regarding this recent photo of a giant snake swimming in a river in Borneo (click to enlarge.) First, only two photos have allegedly been taken of the creature, and second, this story magically appears shortly after an article announcing the discovery of an enormous fossil snake. Hmmm.

To me it looks like a mediocre Photoshop touch up. Moreover, if you were in a helicopter and sighted such a beast, wouldn't you circle back and take dozens and dozens of photographs?
