Gas hydrate discovery...

in the Gulf of Mexico by the USGS represents a significant energy resource in the form of frozen natural gas, also known as clathrate hydrate.

    This was a result of a program between USDOE's NETL and an industry group led by Chevron. Contributors included MMS, USGS, and many others.
