Overpopulation...

is THE preeminent environmental problem when you come right down to it. World population is expected to reach 9 billion by 2050.

It follows that the steadily increasing number of humans means increasing demand of food, water and energy, which in turn impacts the natural environment. Want to reduce your so-called carbon footprint? Simple: don't reproduce.

  1. I had an interesting conversation with a younger lady last week about this. She says she understands overpopulation and the obvious connection with food shortages and such, but claimed to still want at least 5 kids... Some people just don't care.

  2. Should there not be qualifications for those who have biological children like those that are required for adoption? THAT would reduce drastically the number of people who reproduce.
