The towering Fisher Towers (click to enlarge) are mostly composed of the Cutler Formation (Permian) capped by the chocolate brown Moenkopi Formation (Triassic). The gravel-sized clasts in the arkosic sandstones comprising the Cutler, interpreted to be an alluvial fan depositional environment, are nicely observed in the bird-necked pinnacle on the left.
