occurs this evening, resulting in the largest full Moon of 2010. Since Luna's orbit around Earth is elliptical it will position the Moon ~50,000 km closer to Earth this month, resulting in an orb that is 14% wider and 30% brighter than any other full Moon the rest of the year.
