Drilling in the rain...

today in Cannon Hill Park in Spokane in order to understand why ~75,000 gallons of water per day disappear from the pond and into the ground. The city replenishes this lost volume with potable water from its municipal distribution system, a wasteful practice though the ducks likely appreciate the effort.
