EWU students getting nothing...

for the 14% tuition increase they are paying this year. The administration is banking the ~$4.75 million new dollars (likely higher due to higher enrollments,) spending nothing on new faculty or understaffed programs.

Without a doubt this is the most academically ruinous administration this university has seen in the last 25 years. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

  2. Yeah I have a Chem prof who can barely speak english (thus turning lecture into a self-study session) and another prof who has never taught before at any level. I don't know who is running this university but when it comes to classes I ABSOLUTELY need for my program, I've felt screwed over from day 1. Thanks Eastern.

  4. FWIW, It's not any better from the staff POV. Thanks to recent layoffs, everyone's been asked to "do more with less". The problem is, we were already doing more with less. EWU has *never* invested in it human capital in the 16 years I've been here. Beautiful sidewalks and buildings, but no additional people. We're eating ourselves from within folks, and EWU can't even cut people who don't meet the specs for their job description...

  5. Hmm, about a month ago, Dr. Arevalo sent me an email saying "that is why most of our tuition dollars will be directed toward hiring faculty during the coming year."
Gotta love outright lies. Here's hoping for a decent financial aid package from Reno
